Carving 45 degree facets
on each side of the neck

Carving the neck
thickness to 21.5mm
at the 1st fret and
23.5mm at the 12th fret

Carving further facets and
blending them all together
to form an even curved
profile

Using a hand-held 'sanding
belt' to remove carving
marks and achieve a smooth
surface - the neck is also
sanded along its length
with a sanding block

The heel sanded to its
basic profile - plenty more
sanding still to come ...
